School Heritage
During the week of 29th June, all classes will be exploring the heritage of our school. This is what is planned for the classes:
EYFS – Photograph project, dressing children and staff in clothes from the different decades and taking photographs
Year 1 – Scrap Book of St. Catherine’s in 1876, 1974 and 2009
Year 2 – Timeline through pictures, these pictures will then be put onto canvas and displayed in the new building
Year 3 – St Catherine’s in the press, investigating press cutting of the old schools and producing a front page of the new building
Year 4 – Investigating materials used in the original St Catherine’s, the existing building and the new building, discussing with the Kier builders and producing a display of the materials and how methods have changed
Year 5 – Living Library, inviting guests, organising the event and using ICT to record the contributions, producing Podcasts of the oral histories
Year 6 – From the Living Library event, use photo portraits and use software to super-impose text
